snyo concert yesterday went pretty well.
except the parts where i always never got them right. i feel really bad when this kind of stuff happens because its like everybody's playing so well, and my inability disturbs the whole effect. i guess i'll have alot more fine-tuning to do; kind of like what ikebe and sam always tell me: i don't have to do it, but more of like i want to do it.
anyway. i think i'm immune to post concert high. maybe because i'm on duty today. boo.
2 more concerts to go before the year ends.
3.5 more months before i get out of my workplace.

here's a couple of things i've been up to lately.
experimenting with matte finishes (matte on left, polished on right).
changing my cornet mouthpiece receiver.

thanks to yoke lim who did this tedious job for me! marking the end of a year of struggling with this cornet. about time too, especially with the crazy repertoire for the upcoming philwinds concert. the instrument stinks though, from the burnt metal.
and i went for my first prawning venture today! caught 3 prawns (see picture for details, its the big one and 2 others; the other is my partner's catch =D). i think we're like kind of very noob; we spent more time trying the subdue the prawns on land than in the fishing area, all because we do not know (read: scared of the being pinched and stung) how to handle live prawns. haha.
it was at the end of the prawning when we discovered the sadistic streak of certain people, who seem to gain pleasure in piercing satay sticks through the squirming prawns. not to mention that they are trying to compete on who can deliver more pain (ie, pushing the stick through slowly, using 2 sticks going in opposite direction at the same time). and the best part is they are my bunk mates. gosh.
but anyway we barbequed the prawns and ate them. fresh and succulent. if not for the fact that i hate to get the shell off the prawns i'd be full from them in the afternoon (and my cholestrol levels will soar). so i guess being lazy here is a good thing (as usual).
oh and thanks to chenghuat, xiuyu and elinor! the massager has proven to be very very useful. we should meet up again soon!
can't wait for next week to come.

i'm back (blogging)!
got slapped all over (figuratively) recently and did a lot of reflecting the past few weeks. somehow i just feel really thankful that i got slapped; i might would end up being the world's biggest loser if i didn't.
anyway i went back to vj today to visit the band. they're playing o magnum mysterium by morten laudrisen! this is going to be very very exciting.
and right now, i'm entering the a world full with poison: the realm of the c trumpets. strangely the prices all just seem right. this is very very bad.
aye pardon for this jumbled up post, it just has been very taxing on my mental health the past few days and i can't really get my thoughts flowing now (now that i mention it, it seems like my thoughts can't flow, like, everytime?). GOSH.
