well the christmas countdown was pretty nonsense.

at first rehearsal wasn't that bad. only little problem was that we had to sit in the sun and play. so i got drenched pretty quickly. and got a bit darker. then somehow thiam kee appeared on tv. haha.

then after rehearsal me and thiam kee went down to ps to meet alvin. wanted to go mast music. but was closed. so ended up playing lan. starcraft me and alvin got owned by thiam kee. generals all of us got owned by computer. tft dota me and alvin got owned by thiam kee (obviously). but i beat them in cs! haha. damn long never play. was damn lame la.

so we met up with muzzy later. then ate, changed and rushed down to orchard. so we played some songs. then have to get off the stage let other groups perform. then went up play carols. then stone there. handel's messiah was played by lookit and wenrong. transposing work leave it to the syo people ba. hah! but then like that finished le. didn't get to play christmas memories and sleigh ride lo. freaking crap. haiz. totally nonsense.

ok after that i went with my section to newton circus to eat. we had to walk there lo. go there everything damn expensive. pengz. so settled for sugar cane and a few sticks of satay. then yufan sent me and guanyu home.

anyway need to drop a word of thanks to wenrong and guanyu for the present and cards. thanks!

yesterday was nssn.

well i was using mervin's trumpet. large bore. haha not enough air to last throughout the whole concert. but he said was a good attempt. especially so when i only played large bore for only 2 days.

ok so had fun. i love my section. heh.

just here to drop a post before i go to bed...

today was the full dress rehearsal for nssn. pretty crap. i like the acoustics of the theatre though. can save lots of energy. can hear myself sitting on top nicely. but still was damn off form today. damnit i need to find a warmup that works... and not just random licks out of nowhere.

ok so i'm gonna try this warmup tomorrow...
1) loosen lips (horse flaps)
2) play a nice high c
3) long tones in the low register
4) tonguing
5) low register lip slurs.
hope this works. wish me luck.

self confidence. but definitely not ego.

suddenly my blogger sign up page is in chinese...

heck. anyway trumpeters are wearing lovely purple ties (with fluorescent stickers?!) for nssn.we spent like almost 2 hours deciding on the ties. at first some people wanted black ties and the stickers. but it would be totally black. black shirt, black pants, black shoes, black tie?! seriously can just omit the ties and stick the stickers straight on the shirt. make the shape of a tie. but after a long debate (and many phone calls and sms, my phone bill gonna be freaking high this month), we finally settled for purple ties. and it was quite a bargain too. 8 ties for $40. kewl.

then the girls got ornaments to decorate stands. apparently they want to decorate instruments as well. i was like 'ok'...

recently some idiot tried to sell me a backpack case for $60 more than the selling price now. think i gullible. well i'm never going to do business with him. ever. once i clear my stuff with him we're quits.

anyway tomorrow is the full dress rehearsal for nssn. need to rest. so going off now...

so today i had my first sywo practice.

they were so budget. sectionals no tutor. because its not cost effective. according to them. seriously. budget.

the pieces were fun (in a sense). but i hate hardy mertens though. (actually i'm ok la... but i just hate his pieces)

met 2 syo players. heard only one of them though. but its enough to throw me off my feet. shan't elaborate. makes me cry.

tingling lips again! shucks.

today had vj band prac.

well i've been playing for 9 years and i didn't see this problem until recently. i'm playing with the top of inner mouthpiece rim pressed against the red part of my top lips! tomorrow i shall try playing above the red... and post my experience on trumpetherald to determine whether its good or bad to change...

boring!

now after 'o's is supposed to be fun... but got so used to mugging before the 'o's. damn crap. now got nothing to mug. well i suppose i can start doing machinery... but i need to go out to the library and stone there for quite long. or some bookshop. and now i just can't sit still! even blogging is a chore... well at least there's lots of band pracs to look forward to. vjcsb, mbscb and sywo... but (yes lots of buts...) my trumpet still in minnesota... damn sianz. want to practise must go all the way down to vs borrow instrument. and they have pracs tomorrow and on saturday as well. how to borrow... well i just have to bear with it for a few more weeks...
