looking back at the preparation of majestia.

i was in the banner/invitation cards department. helped to buy banner and paint. zhiyuan's friend came out with the main design. drew the outline of the design myself with editing help from xiuyu and jessie. designed the vjcsb part myself. think it looks not very nice though. but still its up on the banner. colour scheme also mainly thought out by me with a bit of inspiration from jien (silver/white and blue) and settled with silver and orange. but i'm not gonna do the banner again. so not fun. as for invitation cards we used elinor's design. was so troublesome cutting out the design. haha yepz.

and i also helped out with live ad. felt like some mercenary while doing so. just doing what i'm told to do. but was fun. got more proficient with the use of plunger mutes.

polished my trumpet a few days before majestia and it looked so shiny that some people begged me to polish theirs too. haha. but i'm thinking of getting it finished in black (tarnished) silver. then i have no need to care about how shiny my instrument is.

hm then xumao came up with this lame game where we switch our names with each other. so andrew is pari, pari is xumao, xumao is andrew, jessie is me, jaslyn is jessie, i'm jaslyn. this is like a chao diao way where we can shoot each other and praise yourself la. haiyo. xumao ah xumao... crap king! and also the animals thingy. andrew is pig, pari is pigeon, xumao is snake, jessie is disgusting cat, jaslyn is kitten, i'm a monkey. and we have to make the sounds of the animals we are. so spasticated. haha.

and of course not forgetting trumpet section's photos! think we have the most seh photo in the programme booklet! vjcsb trumpet rocks!

finally there's all the practising during individuals, sectionals and band pracs. majestia xx, in my opinion, is quite a rushed concert, given the time of about only one month to prepare for it. but still the concert turned out to be a big bang! oh yea!

ok anyway thanks to all who gave me little gifts for majestia. let's see:
pari for the magnet (oops i think the words on the magnet faded abit no thanks to me hehe)
xumao for the cow paper clip (i'm a monkey!!!)
jaslyn for the nice note, the funny thing that can join together and its supposed to represent our section and also the famous amos cookie lollipop with pink ribbon (i love pink)
andrew chua for the photo frame and photos (except for the photo inside the photo frame)
jessie for the keychains and the oh-so-nice-of-you little container that has my lovely name spelled as d y because the ann dropped off
jien for the same container (but with my name on it nicely) and sweets inside
jiejun for the shoelace
junlong for your card and for getting me share batch gifts with you (you owe me $$$)
guanyee and xinyi for your jokerwood corporation card
andrew ong for the gummies
fangxian for the cake filled with m&ms (err weird combination)
shaun for the nice winnie the pooh cake
and reb for the chocolates (nice seeing you again)

and of course those who went for the concert and supported us in one way or another.

hope i didn't miss out anybody...

and next majestia i want to form a jamming band for xiao jie mu! should start planning early... heh.

yesterday was majestia xx.

and was the first time i left a concert.

feeling extremely pleased with my own performance.

will be a while before the memory fades into the back of my mind.

so went to parkway macs after the concert. saw a few groups of people there. then went katong to play lan. was like the only year1 there. and was quite funny some girls also played.

haha then around 0200hours walked over to xumao's house with patrick edmund and jeffrey to ton. i was freaking tired la. reached there about half an hour i k.o. liaoz. slept all the way until 1100 today. just reached home not long ago.

well i guess i'll be stoning around today. after-effects of a concert...

may be back later.

back from philwinds not long ago...

somehow i'm feeling quite excited. don't know why. maybe its because of the prospect of going wmc. or maybe its because majestia is only this friday. or because i played with the principal (loo kit) and ex-principal (linjie) trumpeter of syo just now.

and i'm like feeling a super strong sense of attachment to my instrument now. i wanna polish it! make it look super presentable for majestia. or maybe even make it the shiniest trumpet there! or even better, the shiniest instrument! but i doubt that'll will come true for majestia. i don't even have silver polish to start with. haiz.

and thanks to tjen chew for his gifts from taiwan! a nice handphone chain...

finally back in my blog.

was quite tired the past few days so didn't touch it. majestia xx this coming friday...

hm then i reached home not long ago. was out since morning.

band in the morning that started off with sectionals then combined. left halfway for family day at sentosa for smrt employees. jl's dad is in smrt too! haha is that cool or cool. so we went together lo. then go there only took freebies and free food. didn't care about the other events 'cause seems so boring. so my family left halfway for me to go buy majestia gifts. and i'm seriously broke now. and so irritating la i dropped my mouthpiece! damaged beyond repair... what the hell lo. was so chao err la. i saw the mouthpiece flipped as if it was in slow-mo... thrice, then hit the top of the urinal, flipped another three times and hit the lower part of the urinal and flip flip flip flip flip... until it hit the floor. want to cry le la! but i'm getting a new one tomorrow to replace it. exactly the same. 14b4. the most comfortable and most efficient piece i've used so far. i may not say that once i've got warburton though. haha.

so today went to vj, then sentosa, jurong, people's park, tampines, kallang then finally home. wao wee! totally across the island adventure sia... haha!

oh yea.

abit sad.

i've decided not to go for itg conference. although i feel its like a wasted opportunity. but i guess i really should keep my expenditure in check. i shall go for one of the future conferences next time. that i promise myself. anyway shall say sorry to visaruth, can't go visit you!

hm then syo finally responded to my application. audition this june... but then have to turn up in school uniform. sianz...

then i think i shall just join philwinds for the moment and follow them till wmc. there goes my sunday nights.

school's not really that bad for now. talked to jeremy and he sort of woke me up. if i continue with my pace or way of studying i'll may get retained. but i guess i'll just withdraw if that happens. i hope i won't have the need to resort to that though.

just woke up.

yesterday was pretty fun.

went to school in the morning to get jessie's and my instrument then went for pw meeting. now i understand why pw is so horrible. its like so boring! stoned away at the meeting. couldn't absorb anything at all la. away with pw! ahhhh...

hm then had section jts at 4. everybody else was late and so me and jessie had to go collect the tickets xumao booked because we were like early (as usual heh). i sort of got reprimanded by the person for collecting the tickets like about 3-5 minutes late. nothing to say...

so one by one the whole section turned up. and house of wax is not scary, but it's so disgusting and gory and bloody la! i'm not going to watch that kind of movies again. lucky thing i didn't eat before the movie or else i think i'll just puke all over the place haha. and the storyline isn't fantastic lo. then jaslyn covered her face until her eyes were only peeking from above her bag. haha.

then after house of wax we walked to hereen to take neoprint. for once i'm for it because we have very seh section photos! and our neoprints turn out to be the same! haha. and also we discovered that an unprepared pose is quite nice. and jaslyn was busy screaming about because of the backdrop moving up and down haha.

dinner was tough to decide on. we walked around trying to decide what to eat and its like the only considerations were expensive restaurants. my $$$! so in the end decided on marche. my first time there and its quite cool la haha. hm then jaslyn ordered ham and cheese omelette and andrew ordered pizza la! how i eat lo. in the end only tried to tahan the ham and cheese omelette. haha then after we finished almost everything we played mystery number. had to eat those green and red pepper mixed with some sour chilli and pepper and salt. so we play then just nice everybody got to eat one. the one sabo pari was the most funny one... because i know what number jessie set. then we added super alot of the chilli to her slice of red pepper. all have same reaction de. the face screw up like don't know what. haha.

jaslyn went off with terence and then the rest of us went to have ice kacang and honeydew sago, thanks to xumao because he treated! (some jts eh haha) took somemore photos and cheered at ppp volume haha. then i dropped one spoonful of honeydew sago on the table, so malu la! but had a good laugh as well. went home after that le.

and here i shall give tribute to vjcsb trumpets 2005:
pari: a determined person in my opinion. learning the trumpet only from last year and having such progress is really something to be proud of. also even though you are inexperienced in leading a music section but you still did it in your own way and i think the section really appreciates you for that. so enjoy this coming majestia xx and good luck for your 'a's!

xumao: fun loving, crap spouting. chao ji enthu about organising activities, be it for the band or for trumpets. you're like the mother of our section la! haha. caring for the section like a mother would for her child. at the same time you're cool man... always coming up with funny ideas. so continue being funny and crappy! enjoy 27 may and good luck for your 'a's too!

jessie: blur blur blur. haha just kidding. a strong player. and caring too. goes about cheering everybody up. contributes the most to the high laughing level in our section. i still don't understand how one can laugh so much. but nevermind i think i'll never understand anyway. hm i think you can take over xumao's position as mother of the section haha. or maybe you can be the clown of the section. your funny antics, usually unintended by you, never fail to make anybody's day! haha. hm and think more positively ba! looking forward to having fun together in future events!

jaslyn: ai de! can i have a look at your ic please? haha the section loves to suan you, but as i said its a good thing to make people happy! the same way as you had a good laugh at me during nssn period haha. and please take note, cold jokes are a good way of making people happy only when used sparingly. heh. so be cool (in terms of temperature) and hope you enjoy time with the section as much as you enjoy time with *coughs*!

andrew: you once told me you are a committed person and i think i saw that for myself. you stuck with us for so long even though laoshi keeps picking on you (in a way). but don't worry the section shall help you! we shall bring you up to mervin's level! but that has to wait till after majestia ba. so tahan abit more! we support you! let's have a good time in vjcsb!

hm now that syf is over i have to readjust my priorities. study! (i'm sure i will)

ah yes ah yes...

today basically i 'fell sick' and therefore woke up late. supposed to help out in live ad so went to school lo.

anyway today me jl and gy rented bikes from the sc and cycled all the way to dunman. i cycle until my legs wanna break la. the stupid bike is like so pok, my legs were like going at twice the speed of jl's legs but still the gap between us became wider and wider... with me at the back of course. but was fun la. never cycled for so long before. maybe got... last time vjcsb chalet midnight cycling with jl gy alvin and jessie. don't know which one is longer la. all i know is today's cycling session i cycle until can die... haha.

hm then during cycling my mind cleared up alot. watching the endless horizon, the mysterious looking trees and zoning out a few times, really helped. as a result i'm hyper! happy! now i feel like getting my own set of blades or a bike and go out regularly on them. hm yea i really think i should. oh well that comes at the expense of my pocket money again.

took up a new perspective.
