oh yay this is my first post from the macbook.
finished all my performances and gigs the past wednesday. quintet performed in a proper chamber concert setting is just so damn different. gosh. but somehow we raked in good reviews. man i really need to brush up on the inner games.
other than that life is gonna be abit boring from now on; seeing that i literally have nothing to do except to pack for netherlands and wait for the right time to do what i have to do. would be lovely if i could join more meet ups, but sad to say i do need to keep money spending in consideration. it's this kind of situations that make me hate being POOR. boo.
anyway i'm excited about this whole new experience i'm about to partake in. it will also be the first time which i will be able to do proper trumpet shopping! hurray! and imagine traveling around europe, and listening to major orchestras 'live', along with trying to meet the trumpeters. i just hope i don't lose (too much) drive when i'm there, although i'm pretty sure there will be times when i'll feel like i've reached a wall. not being pessimistic or anything; just being realistic. ah well. i can do it man. I WILL END UP IN A MAJOR ORCHESTRA MYSELF.
ok i guess that's it for this post (i did tell you guys my life's getting boring). to all readers (if any) out there, until my next post, cheers!

indeed, the balance reigns.
the more you gain, the more you will lose.

yes i'm back again.
lots of things have happened ever since the last post and i'm somehow managing to keep up with everything, especially with school application (although just barely).
couple more performances and concerts to go as well before i leave:
5 july - philwinds at paragon
13 july - syo at esplanade
25 july - gig for jj's d&d
28 july - syf 2009 festival orchestra at vch
5 august - syo chamber series at vch
then probably i'll be flying off a few days after the last concert. its kind of weird, and of course cliche, that i've been dreaming of pursuing music performance abroad since 2003, and now i've passed the first step, it all just seems so surreal. but i guess it's part of moving on ahead and out of something that's so comfortable, especially leaving the physical bonds of family and friends. oh well. something will work out, at the very least i'm confident of myself to do that.
so that's why in the meantime, i should at least grab opportunities to meet up with people! and of course still save up as much as i can; meetups can be very expensive somehow. zzz.
alright, i shall go and continue my personal struggle with the quarterlife crisis.
cheers!

aye it has been awhile.
went to hamamatsu and osaka in japan from 14-19 may with philwinds for the 41st japan band clinic and enjoyed myself loads; japan is now one of my choice of countries of retirement. somehow i can just never get sick of eating the food there. the sashimi there is so fresh! gosh. recalling the tastes makes my mouth water.
the recent saturday was fun too, at majestia xxiv. missing the company of my batch people already. =/
and of course, auditions in netherlands are in order next week. wish me luck! i'll be gone from 31 may to 6 june, so pardon me if i don't reply to texts or if my phone seems to be perpetually unreachable.
alright, i'm off to pack.
